The Head of Bexicaserin and DEE in Global Medical Affairs plays a pivotal role in pairing medical expertise with insights from markets, healthcare professionals, patients, and health systems to develop and execute world-class medical strategies for Lundbeck’s neuro rare portfolio. As a strategic partner and leader across the medical enterprise, R&D, and commercial functions, the Head of Bexicaserin and DEE in Global Medical Affairs ensures the alignment of Bexicaserin and developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) disease area strategies with the needs of marketing affiliates, healthcare professionals, and patients. The role also focuses on enabling medical teams worldwide to deliver exceptional product launches, practice-defining studies, real-world evidence, and clinical trial acceleration.

Your new role

Scientific Leadership:

-Develop and communicate world-class medical content and compelling scientific narratives for products and market-shaping initiatives.
-Ensure alignment of medical strategies with global business objectives to achieve scientific leadership.
 

Evidence Generation:

style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"-
-Shape and design evidence needs and clinical studies to differentiate or expand market access for Lundbeck’s medicines.
-Support healthcare change initiatives through the creation of robust evidence frameworks.
 

External Scientific Engagement:

style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"-
-Drive an ambitious external engagement agenda by partnering with global thought leaders, societies, health organizations, and health system decision-makers.
-Represent Lundbeck as a credible and knowledgeable scientific leader in the field of neuro rare diseases.
 

Product Launch and Performance Management:

-Develop strategies, scientific narratives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure successful product launches.
-Monitor performance against launch objectives and implement proactive remedial actions as needed.
 

Innovation and Market Growth:

-Identify and create new opportunities to drive market growth.
-Scale best practices and innovative approaches across countries and regions.
 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"-
-Partner with internal stakeholders across medical, R&D, and commercial functions to deliver strategically important resources and ensure compliance with scientific and regulatory standards.

Your future team

-Direct Report: Manage team driving global medical strategy and scientific communication plan.
style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"-
-Internal: Collaborate with the Global Program Team (GPT), R&D, commercial teams, and medical teams across countries and regions.
style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"-
-External: Engage with global clinical thought leaders, professional societies, health organizations, and health system decision-makers.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and follows a hybrid model.

What you bring to the team

Professional Competencies:

style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-bottom:0.0in"-
-Demonstrated strategic and medical leadership capabilities, including pre- and post-product launch expertise.
-Proven ability to define evidence needs, create compelling scientific strategies, and influence and mobilize key stakeholders.
-Expertise in rare disease areas, particularly in neuroscience.
-Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate patient pathways and incorporate patient perspectives into strategies.
-Doctoral degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) is required.
 

Required Experience:

style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-bottom:0.0in"-
-5-10 years of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Medical, Marketing, R&D, Market Access roles) or in a relevant health system setting (clinical, pharmacy, pathway design, etc.).
-Experience launching new products or indications in global or large markets (US, CN, JP, EU).
-Strong working relationships with global clinical thought leaders, professional societies, and healthcare organizations.
-Experience with digital and healthcare tools and evidence generation programs (clinical trials or real-world evidence).
 

Desirable Experience:

-Proven ability to deliver results in complex environments.
-Expertise in scaling best practices across regions.
-Experience in creating and implementing innovative healthcare strategies.
